Our History

Cadbury Athletic Juniors Football Club was formed in 1994 by Gaynor Walker, a former employee of Cadbury’s. Situated at our home in Bournville we have been providing football in the local and surrounding areas now for over 20 years. We have always provided ourselves on providing good facilities and excellent coaching.

Originally comprising of two eleven aside teams, the club has grown substantially since the FA’s introduction of small sided football in 1999. As a Charter Standard club we have always been quick to embrace new developments in the grassroots game and currently run teams from U7s through to U17/18s and from the 2016-17 season girls’ football – with teams competing in the Central Warwickshire Youth League. In addition to our junior teams, we are also linked to the men’s section that compete in the Midland Football League, as well as Robbo’s Football Coaching, which offers an introduction to football for boys and girls aged four and upwards.

As well as boasting excellent facilities at our home ground in Bournville, we are also fortunate to be able to utilise the brand new 3G facilities at Four Dwellings Academy for training sessions. For the last two seasons we have been operating in conjunction with Birmingham City Academy as part of their grassroots association. This venture has greatly aided our development and desire to provide excellent opportunities and coaching for our young players. Cadbury Athletic Juniors has a long and proud tradition of developing talent; including premier league winners and England internationals Daniel Sturridge and Demarai Gray, who both started their footballing careers with Cadbury Athletic.
Cadbury Athletic Juniors remains a major force in local football, and maintains its basic philosophy of providing children from the local community the opportunity to play football in a safe and secure environment.
